Unfold references the elongated twists and turns of Lucky Bamboo, its vivid colour, and its essence of energy and growth. The work is composed of folded stainless steel plate – highly polished on one surface and painted a rich, verdant green on its other. Three tall, elegant sculptures emerge from out of the water pools at the entrance of the MET and welcome the viewer from every vantage point. Unfold enhances the play between the interior and exterior as each sculpture shifts and swivels to offer changing experiences of colour and reflection.
