The Flats is a multi-element public art installation that re-envisions building infrastructure components, such as mechanical vents and exhaust pipes, as a compelling, illuminated art experience for viewers. The works are inspired by the original character of this False Creek site, once a tidal flat blanketed with thick eelgrass and rich tidal pools. The artwork includes sequenced integrated LED components which further the work's connection to local natural systems and patterns.
