Rainbow Forest is a transformative, immersive artwork inspired by the majestic old-growth bottomland forests that once stretched across Columbia, and the rare, otherworldly phenomenon of “rainbow pools” that appear when light, water, and organic matter align. Within the Vista Tunnel, the work envelops visitors in a luminous forest landscape animated by subtle, shifting spectral color. This interplay of light and environment evokes memory and wonder, inviting reflection on our interconnectedness with the past, the natural world, and one another.
