Living Light is an iconic gateway element for Downtown Markham, symbolizing the City’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Inspired by the resilient Blue Lupine of the nearby Rouge River Valley, the sculpture integrates solar cells that capture and store sunlight to power its dynamic nighttime illumination.
By day, perforated surfaces filter light, casting animated shadows that enhance the pedestrian experience.
