From Sky to Sea is an elegant, iconically scaled sculpture situated within a curvilinear water feature at the entrance to the Icon building. Inspired by the natural beauty of the three watersheds that carry rainfall and snowmelt from Burnaby’s mountains through meandering creeks and streams to the Fraser River and Burrard Inlet, and ultimately to the Pacific Ocean, the sculpture traces water’s continuous journey across the landscape. Composed of three intertwined stainless steel spirals that extend between the sky and the water pool below, the dynamic form shifts with every viewpoint, reflecting its surroundings and interacting with light in ever-changing ways.
